about
the girl behind the parlour
a writer, a collector of unfinished worlds, and the slightly chaotic heart of paper parlour productions.

hello, i’m samantha
I’ve been writing privately for years: in notebooks, in margins, in the notes app at 2am. Paper Parlour Productions is me finally letting other people see it, before it feels finished.
I’m a mum, a reader, a uni student and a late-blooming author, building a creative life while still living a very ordinary one in the Hunter Valley. I collect ideas, unfinished worlds and far too many notebooks.
Here you’ll find the whole messy, glittery process: the queens and the poems, the story worlds and the papers on the floor.

the real, unfiltered reality of how things get made around here.

the story of the parlour
We would love to tell you this space was created carefully — organised, colour-coded, and curated with perfect purpose and planning.
But that wouldn’t quite be true.
This space was built from chaos and caffeine. From 2am thoughts, stories that made sleep impossible, and too many ideas refusing to stay quiet or wait their turn.
Every idea demanded to be heard. Every story insisted on existing.
What you see here is the result of months of organised chaos — notebooks piled high, sticky notes everywhere, highlighted pages, unconventional planning methods, half-finished cups of tea, and endless notes saved in our phones.
A little messy. A little magical. Entirely intentional in the end.
This is a place where curiosity is encouraged, where magic and mayhem exist beautifully together, and where stories are allowed to take up space. Where poems linger. Where emotions ask to be felt. Where characters refuse to leave quietly. Where history, fiction, art, wonder, and creativity collide.
A creative home for poems, short stories, personal essays, novels, children’s books, historical blogging, and countless other ideas still patiently waiting their turn.
Welcome to Paper Parlour Productions — where the tea is never quite finished, the ideas never stop arriving, and every story finds a little room to breathe, bloom, and become something magical.
